On 26 June 2008, Czech Airlines Cargo organized a friendly football tournament for its customers. Four companies measured their football skills on a football pitch in Dobrovíz.
The DHL Logistics team won the cup followed by the BDP – Wakestone team in second position and Czech Airlines Cargo in third. Martin Dolejš of DHL Logistics was the top tournament goal-scorer and Karel Babíček of BDP – Wakestone was named the best goalkeeper.
Wonderful refreshments were prepared for the participants of the event and even the spectators could win interesting prizes in light-hearted sports competitions during the breaks in the action.
Everyone spent together a pleasant afternoon and CSA Cargo is looking forward to the tournament again next year.

Czech Airlines Cargo has signed a contract to use OAG Cargo’s Inforwarding Announcements service to publish time sensitive operational announcements to the portal’s 25,000 registered freight forwarding users. The new OAG Cargo portal www.oagcargo.com also provides route building, schedules, truck service points and rates and analysis tools as well as regulations governing the carriage by air of dangerous goods shipments.
The agreement was formally signed by Czech Airlines Cargo and OAG Cargo Solutions at the IATA World Cargo Symposium 2008 Rome, Italy.

Kristyna Berankova, Account Development Manager EMEA for OAG Cargo Solutions, said: „With over 50 airlines serving the Czech Republic and a thriving cargo community of over 70 freight forwarders, the OAG Cargo portal can offer wide-ranging benefits for both sets of users. The support of Czech Airlines Cargo is especially significant because the airline sees real value in helping the development of OAG Cargo in the Czech Republic. This is another national carrier that recognises the benefits of working with OAG providers for its own business and its freight forwarding customers.”

On 3 and 4 February 2008, Czech Airlines Cargo representatives participated in the first annual independent cargo conference of Delta Cargo in Atlanta, Georgia, together with other agents from Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Canada and India.
The representatives, from more than 15 different markets, discussed the similarities and differences in the individual markets, such as, for example, Accra, Dakar, Johannesburg, Bucharest, Budapest, Kiev, Moscow and Prague. The conference evaluated existing cooperation and set out new ambitious targets and ways to achieve them in keeping with the targets and strategy of Delta Cargo, such as, especially, long-term fulfilment of customers´ needs through a strong, well-balanced network, better customer service, and the higher quality of products and on-line technologies.

Czech Airlines Cargo has been the Delta Cargo general sales agent for the Czech Republic since June 2006. This cooperation extended the network of Czech Airlines Cargo especially to new American destinations, and has brought faster service for small shipments through connecting the networks of both airlines and using the hubs of Delta Air Lines (Atlanta, Cincinnati, and New York). There is a wide network of connections where, for example, a shipment may connect from Atlanta to more than 200 destinations.
In May 2007, Delta Air Lines returned to the Czech market and inaugurated a new direct service from Prague to Atlanta with Boeing 767-300 ER’s (initially four weekly flights, and later, five weekly flights). The existing commercial cooperation between Delta Cargo and Czech Airlines Cargo has intensified and continues successfully.
In connection with the sale of the cargo terminal and the following outsourcing of handling services, last year, CSA Cargo went through one of the most fundamental changes in its entire history.
After a successful transformation and fulfilment of the business targets defined for the year 2007, and in accordance with the change of the Czech Airlines corporate identity, the name and logo of this Czech Airlines strategic business unit also changed, to: Czech Airlines Cargo.

“By defining its new identity, Czech Airlines Cargo, together with new services on offer – especially its expansion to the globally important Asian markets, is strengthening its position as a fast and reliable carrier, and not only in Europe” says Jan Grabmüller, Director, Czech Airlines Cargo.
